Marine Band Master Class
Five members of the “The Presidents Own” performed and gave a master class for 65 Mattacheese and DYRHS band students, on Tuesday, October 30th. The 20 minute performance featured music by a number of French composers spanning 250 years. The quintet was composed of a musicians playing clarinet, oboe, bassoon, flute and french horn.
Following the performance, they entertained the students with conversation about what it is like to perform for the President and visiting dignitaries. They also gave then insights as to what life in the Marine band is like.
The master classes provided a wealth of information for the students to think about. Hopefully, the Mattacheese musicians will remember all of these musical words of wisdom!
