On May 9th, the 7 & 8 jazz band traveled to the Great East Music Festival where they performed the pieces “No Problema” and “Train Reaction”. The judges both agreed that the group’s performance was “Golden”.
After the festival performance the Jazz band, along with the Treble choir, enjoyed the offerings of Six Flags amusement park. The students, as expected, were well behaved and a pleasure to chaperone.
Congratulations to all who participated!

The jazz band students will be given a medical treat/permission form this Friday. The permission form is for the groups Thursday performance at the Riverway restaurant and the medical treatment form is for Friday’s trip to the Great East Festival. Please return these forms on Monday.

The initial deposits and “Dunkin Donuts” fund raiser have been totaled and now it is time for the final payment. All jazz band members will be given an up-date to take home on Tuesday, April 29th. The paper will include the amount owed by the student and a reminder of times and dates. Please e-mail or call, if you have any questions.

The Jazz band has added a performance on May 8th, Thursday. A day concert at the Riverway restaurant will be performed at noon. Students will be dismissed from class for the event.

The grade 6 band will present an end of the year concert on Wednesday, May 28th. As always, concert dress and a 7 PM performance time.
The group will also play for the 8th grade promotion on June 17th. Mark the date!

Congratulations to Alex Zahn and Colin Kelley. They are the proud owners of new professional grade instruments. We are all looking forward to the great sound to be produced on those horns.

The 7th and 8th grade jazz band played a spectacular set at Nauset middle school, on April 8th. “Train Reaction” and “No Problema” were the featured numbers performed that evening. The Latin number “No Problema” was greatly enhanced that night by the addition of solo’s performed by Ryan Gallant (clarinet), Connor Reid (piano), Alex Zahn (trumpet), Colin Kelley (trombone), Marc Parent (tenor sax) and Camillo Massagli (trumpet).
The groups next performance will be the Great East Festival on May 9th.
